My husband and I are in our 50s and we fall asleep to Jim Dale reading Harry Potter on Audible every night. My daughter, now 24, and I consumed the books and movies over the course of her childhood. @mik1of32 жыл бұрын
@A Z well, if you want facts, here’s some cold hard ones for you. I’m in excellent health (sick once in the past 21 years, and that was for two days), hospitalized only once in my life (C section when I had my daughter, and even then, I was in/out in 3 days)…I’m a former athlete, still walk/run at least 2 miles a day, (3 dogs require it) and go to the gym. I take supplements, eat right, rarely eat crap or drink soda. I don’t drink alcohol, have never taken drugs, and am a HUGE believer in sunshine, fresh air, and sleep. If you want to bark up a tree, sweetie, may I recommend the Whomping Willow? As for the proper hygiene…the mere fact that most of y’all have to be told to wash your hands, the proper way to cough and/or sneeze, and to stay home when you’re sick tells me that most of you haven’t the faintest idea on what proper hygiene is. Not to mention the fact that soooo many people have proudly (?!) declared that they do not shower/bathe daily….and that they don’t bathe their germy, dirty kids daily either. My family bathes daily, sometimes twice…and my daughter was bathed daily, more often when she was little and got really dirty like active, healthy kids do. So shoo with your imbecilic insults. You’re embarrassing yourself.

@sugeycruz57532 жыл бұрын
@@Patrick__M He was my favorite in the books and the films. I don't think the movies "destroyed" his character per se. It was unfair that the films diminished the importance Ron served as part of the Trio by being the only one with actual passed down knowledge of the wizarding world and making him more "comic relief" but the basic DNA for Ron was still there and he was still a great character. I always appreciated that Ron, of the 3, was allowed to be the most human of all of them. The other two were a caricature of "ideal" character types, but Ron was able to feel real emotion and deal with things at a human level, which in the end made me relate even more to him.

@@sugeycruz5753 I agree. And Rupert had the acting chops, even then, to play the Ron that was portrayed in the books.
@Patrick__M2 жыл бұрын
@@sugeycruz5753 Movie made him into a coward and that seemed to bring nothing to the table. A good example is book 1 through the trap door with the devils snare. It shows each having unique characteristics. Another example is in Prisoner, while in the shrieking shack Ron says Black would have to kill him and Hermione as well in order to kill Harry. Ultimately every positive quality that is verbalized by Ron in the books was given to Hermione in the movie.
@sugeycruz57532 жыл бұрын
@@Patrick__M Again I agree to an extent that the movies did a disservice in reducing his heroism and high degree of intelligence especially in knowing things innately and because it was passed down to him as the only true blood wizard of the trio. However, there are other qualities that Rupert brought to the character and which were still there in terms of his humanity that for ME still make him my favorite among the younger characters. It's the fact that he's allowed to be flawed and human in essence. It's why Snape is my favorite among the adults as well.

What is most emotional about this reunion, for me, is the lack of Alan Rickman. I am older than the average Potter fan and remember nearly all of his other roles. He was a truly gifted actor, who could communicate volumns of information and emotion without speaking a word. That he never received so much as an Oscar nomination for his role as Snape is one major reason why I no longer watch or even care about the Oscars. RIP Mr. Rickman, you are and will be missed.

I totally agree! I have this theory that a large part of the reason for this - asides from great parenting and the British celebrity culture being different from the American - might be that, unlike other child stars who became famous for different movies and franchises, Daniel, Emma and the others pretty much only acted in the HP-franchise until they were nearly adults. This probably allowed them to form deeper and more stable relationships with everyone else who was working on or in the movies. :)

Growing up with Harry Potter really was an experience. Even as someone who never was a diehard potter fan there was just something special about watching the cast grow, the special effects feeling so real, the whole wizarding world feels so real in those movies. I would say Harry Potter essentially brought us into a whole new world, in a way no other series has. Seemingly against all the odds and despite the unavoidable delays caused by the nefarious machinations of our adversaries and their minions, the charges in the Midazolam Murders case are finally set to be laid on the 21st of December, at a Magistrates Court which shall remain a secret, until such time that the proceedings initiated against Hancock et al have been properly administered by a District Judge. In other words, following the abject failure of the conspiracy to derail the PCP over the past eighteen months, we have built a case upon the expert and eye witness testimony of eighteen witnesses, including six doctors, five nurses, an undertaker and seven family members of victims, as well as two survivors of attempted murder on wards in two major English hospitals. With another six eye witnesses to the heinous crimes alleged lined up to testify, we have established what a highly experienced and knowledgeable barrister recently described as “an unbeatable case”, given that we can prove every aspect of each co-conspirator’s offences, from Hancock down to the mobile assassins who delivered the fatal doses of Midazolam in the care homes. More simplistically put, we can demonstrate with expert and eye witness testimony, publicly available documentary evidence and Matt Hancock’s confession before the House of Commons COVID-19 inquiry in April 2020, that targeted demographics are being murdered under ‘NHS care’, as a matter of long-established government policy. We can also show that these capital crimes are being carried out across the world, in a coordinated attempt to cull the population of the Earth by up to 95%, in the name of ‘The Greater Good’, which naturally requires a concerted international effort to put an end to this worldwide democidal policy and bring the perpetrators to justice. I am truly honoured to say that myself and the other key members of the PUB team have been invited to join such an international push-back....

"Only thing even comparable to it is the mcu how they brought the comics to life" Nope. The MCU is barely even a fledgling artists sketch on the comic book characters. Disney/Marvel purposely dumbed every single character down to its most basic visual representation and little else so that it could appeal to as many people as possible. They they started adding jokes. Jokes upon jokes upon jokes. Because someone at Marvel clearly thought the comic in comic book only means comedy. The MCU is not the comic books brought to life - it's a parody of them. Literally a parody because they can't stop making jokes about it.

Though unfortunate it is for us both that I have to break you out of your pleasant fantasies, I must point out that there is a dauntingly high chance that the producers specifically asked for the two to visualize some nonexistent chemistry. Now I am aware that the average person of your sort would never acknowledge this fact, but alas, it is what it is. Not to mention I have concluded after years of research that sources such as the “documentary” that you speak of are hardly ever credible at all, and are in most cases, products of great exaggeration. Hundreds of articles are out there that claim outrageous stories of Emma Watson and other cast members of the Harry Potter franchise, and your “documentary” sounds just like one of them. Though it is completely fine for you to keep your belief as a personal “headcanon” of sorts. Now please, good sirs and ladies that are reading this, kindly do express your thoughts on my comment in a civil way, and please refrain from resorting to any illogical insults or any other pathetic means of venting.
